DESCRIPTION:Join us for a pleasant summer tour of Højerup’s sights with the East Zealand Museum’s knowledgeable guide\, philosopher, and cultural educator Lise Søelund. \nThe afternoon concludes with cake and coffee or tea at the historic Højeruplund inn.\nDuring the tour, Lise Søelund will share the dramatic cultural history of Højerup and Stevns Klint. Among other things, you’ll hear about the old church in Højerup, which lost its choir during a major cliff collapse on March 16, 1928, and about how chalkstone was quarried from the cliff in days gone by. From the church, the tour continues to Mindelunden, where Lise will talk about some of the famous figures from Danish history who are commemorated here. \nAmong other things, you’ll hear about the linguist Peder Syv and the pastor Christian Richard, who wrote “Altid frejdig, når du går” (Always Cheerful When You Walk).\nThe tour is a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in a fascinating piece of cultural history alongside our knowledgeable guide, Lise Søelund, who will ensure you gain insight and knowledge about the cultural history of Højerup and Stevns Klint.\nCake and tea or coffee at the cozy Højeruplund inn is also a cultural-historical experience in itself. \nAbout Lise Søelund:\nLise Søelund holds a Master of Arts degree in philosophy and the history of ideas, and has written books about Stevns, including *Pen, Brush, and Stroke: Philosophical, Biographical, and Mystical Elements from Stevns* and *Outlook, Insight, and Overview*.
