On Saturday, September 20, KALK a very special experience at the spectacular Faxe Limestone Quarry: Fossil Bingo! A fun and educational activity for both children and adults, combining a fossil hunt with a game of bingo—and the chance to win prizes.
Fossil Bingo is an activity organized as part of FossilFestival 2025 and is included in the standard fee for renting a hammer and chisel. This means that all guests who pay the usual 50 kr. to go fossil hunting will also receive a bingo card and the chance to win prizes as part of the price on this day.
The bingo card shows pictures of the 10 most common fossils you can find at the Faxe Limestone Quarry. When you find the fossils and complete one, two, or three rows on the card, great prizes await.
Here's how it works:
- Renting a hammer and chisel costs 50 kr. – and includes a free bingo card.
- Bingo cards are available at the KALK store.
- The museum has set up a tent in the limestone quarry, where experienced guides examine and authenticate the fossils.
The event will take place on Saturday, September 20, from 10:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.—you’re free to come and go as you please.
Fossil Bingo is part of FossilFestival 2025, a nationwide initiative organized by the National Museums of Natural History. Across the country, museums and organizations are hosting activities that highlight Denmark’s fascinating geology and past.
