FORT will be transformed into an active base when more than 30 historic military vehicles and about 60 enthusiasts from across the country move in and set up camp at the museum on the weekend of August 16–17.
The Danish Military History Vehicle Association (DMKF), the Guard Hussar Regiment Veterans’ Armored Vehicle Association (GHRVPK), and the Hawk Veterans are joining forces to showcase vehicles, equipment, and stories from the Cold War and the years that followed. This marks the 15th consecutive year that military vehicles have gathered at the old fort to bring history to life.
The camp is open to the public during the museum’s hours of operation, which are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Here, you can get up close to the impressive machines, see the living quarters, and chat with the participants about the vehicles.
Vehicle Presentation and Test Drives for the Public
On Saturday, August 16, from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m., there will be a major vehicle showcase in the arena with an announcer, and afterward, guests can take a ride in selected military vehicles.
On Sunday, August 17, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., the public will once again have the opportunity to ride in several of the participating vehicles.
On both days, there will be demonstrations of the iconic HAWK equipment afterward.
The event is included in the regular admission fee to FORT of 95 kr. and is free for children.
