More than 500 guests braved the rain and turned out to celebrate the season openings at KALK and FORT, both part of the East Zealand Museums.
The atmosphere was lively at the FORT and KALK museums as the East Zealand Museums marked the start of the 2026 season for the third year in a row by handing out free season passes. Despite the rainy weather, visitors lined up in front of the museums ahead of the opening.
“A huge thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate the season opening with us. It has been a tremendous pleasure to greet so many of our guests and see how much they enjoy the museums and the experiences we have to offer,” says Mads Damsbo, director of Østsjællands Museer.
At FORT, 210 season passes were issued, and at KALK, 380. About one-fifth of the guests at the season opening were children, which is more than in previous years.
– That’s a really positive development. The museums have focused on creating experiences for children, so it’s wonderful to see so many of them at the opening. And it’s a real treat to hear their reactions to, for example, the new exhibition at KALK, so meeting guests and inviting them to season openings is a tradition we’ll continue, says Mads Damsbo.
FORT and KALK are open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. during Easter.
