The underground fortress Stevnsfort used to be a secret bunker in the Danish defense. Today, the fort can be experienced on guided tours for both adults who want to learn about the fort's military history and for children who want to explore the fort's secrets in a fun and educational way.

- We look forward to welcoming you to the underground during the winter holidays and have chosen to offer tours specifically for adults who want to immerse themselves in history and for families with children who can see the fort on the children's terms with a focus on activities. "Last year we offered a family tour for the first time and it was a great success, so we look forward to unfolding the history for even more families with children," says Kasper Renström Østervig, director of Østsjællands Museum, which includes the Cold War Museum Stevnsfort.

Secrets of the Fort
The guided tour Secrets of the Fort is aimed at adults, and the tour of the underground fort gives insight into Stevnsfort's role during the Cold War. The guide will tell you about the military operations and the great preparedness that was kept secret from the outside world for many years. It's a unique opportunity to learn about the fort's strategic importance, see the original facilities and understand how the fort was an important part of Denmark's defense.

Mission Stevnsfort - the tour for families with children
For the youngest visitors, Stevnsfort offers the exciting and active tour Mission Stevnsfort. Here, children gain insight into the history and significance of the fort, walk the underground passages and visit selected rooms in the fort. At the same time, they learn about the exciting tasks that the soldiers who worked at Stevnsfort had during the Cold War. The whole family can get close to the defense of the past and work together to decode a message and taste an emergency ration.
