Fortunately, the parking chaos and the line for coffee were met with big smiles as Geomuseum Faxe was overwhelmed by the crowds of visitors on opening day.
860 visitors poured through the doors for this year’s season opening celebration at Geomuseum Faxe from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on the first official day of spring.
“It’s absolutely amazing! We were almost overwhelmed by our own success, but it’s really great to see the interest and enthusiasm from so many visitors, and fortunately, everyone took the line in stride with smiles and good spirits,” says Kasper Renström Østervig, director of the East Zealand Museum.
400 free annual passes were distributed to visitors during the first 45 minutes, and once the supply ran out, an additional 457 visitors signed up to pick up their annual passes at the Geomuseum later. The annual passes provide access to both the grounds at Stevnsfort and the Geomuseum Faxe, where children always have free admission.
“It was so great to see everyone in such high spirits. The initiative offering free annual passes received a lot of praise, and we met especially families with children and grandparents who want to bring their grandchildren to the Geomuseum and will now have free admission for the rest of the year,” says Kasper Renström Østervig.
The season at Geomuseum Faxe runs through October 31, 2025.
