Guided tour
Harbor walk at Faxe Ladeplads harbor

Info about the tour
Join a guided harbor walk at Faxe Ladeplads Harbor and hear the exciting story of one of Denmark's busiest industrial and fishing ports.
Today, Faxe Ladeplads harbor is still a busy shipping port for lime from Faxe Limestone Quarry. Many of the port's other functions no longer exist, but fortunately the historical traces do.
Hear about the days when Jens Kofoed and Frede Mortensen's shipyards sent large schooners out into the world and about the fishermen who made a good living catching eels. You'll also hear about the railroad with tippers carrying lime from the limestone quarry and the hard work of the limestone workers loading limestone onto ships all over the world.
